Over thinking is caused due to fear, when you focus on negative things that when stress gets elevated and your judgement get cloudy.The tendency of overthinking is sign of lack of confidence as well as concentration and also failure in understanding the importance of issues being faced.

Another important reason is not willing to accept the reality.

To get rid of this tendency -

1:- one must be aware of meaning and significance of supreme values in life- freedom, truth, peace, compassion in respect of every living being.

2:- one must be aware of significance of polarities in values like truth and untruth, ethical and unethical, moral and amoral, right and wrong and so on and the need to make right choice based on this awareness one must make right choices while making decisions in life.

With proper understanding and making right choices,one is able to accept the consequences of one's own decision making.

All these steps enable one to develop proper understanding, adopt proper way of thinking, make right decisions,realize and decide priorities to be given.

All these important aspects help avoid over thinking tendency leading to waste of energy and time leading to agitated mind reflecting on physical health and at the same time engage the in healthy activities fruitfully.

An alternative step is to start keeping a journal and write everything in that journal. This will bring you awareness, distract yourself into happiness instead of visualisation that things goes wrong shift tings what can go right and keep thinking those, try things like dance, meditation, exercising, painting. Change your perspective about failure, remember every opportunity is a new beginning. And a certain change are there you can’t change and no body predict the future. Above all be grateful whatever you have.
